that first time
I was about eleven
across the aisle
and back two rows
just but a boy
pondering heaven
and blond hair pulled
through a velvet bow
and a flick of her ponytail….
so each week
I would stare at her
do anything
to catch her eye
she must have known
but she never let on
just walked away
with her nose held high
and a flick of her ponytail….
hair gathered, and held in a bow
bobbing along, wherever she goes
I became a fool for a ponytail…..
a few years on
and wouldn’t you know it
a radiant beauty
caught my eye
sitting pretty
legs hitched on a barstool
looked at me
with a wink and a smile
and a flick of her ponytail….
so we started talking
and years later
we’re still talking
and carrying on
I love her so
sometimes I hate her
but she turns her head
and such thoughts are gone
with a flick of her ponytail….
hair gathered, and held in a bow
bobbing along, wherever she goes
I remain a fool for a ponytail…..

The lead singer of the Spin Doctors is an excellent writer, I like this band a lot, and Eric Ambel who produced the record is a proven master George Breakfast
Joe is one of the most talented people I know. I am proud to call him my friend, and if you are not familiar with his work yet, its time you were! George Breakfast
