never coming back you keep on calling me at all times of the day and night and tell me we cant be together any more as if our love is like a light we can turn on and off by flicking on a plastic switch that’s on the wall you not here, I’m not there we’re disconnected, out of whack and I’m afraid, and I’m afraid you’re never coming back and when we meet out on the street or in a house that is not ours and yet we’ll find again we’re face to face do you believe that we’ll no longer want to reach out tenderly and wrap each other in a warm embrace you not here, I’m not there we’re disconnected, out of whack and I’m afraid, I’m afraid you’re never coming back……… words & music by George Bacon copyright 2003 Cottage Pie Music(BMI)

about

Sometime in 1984 in NYC I became the proud owner of
a Yamaha 4 track cassette recorder. Immediately my
songwriting manoeuvres changed forever. I now had
the means to experiment with arrangements and instrumentation without having to persuade other
musicians to indulge me. I could play with myself!

After thousands of hours of fun with that machine,
in the 90s I acquired an 8 track Tascam reel to reel recorder with a built in mixer. This kept me happy for several years. Then in 2003 I went digital and bought
a hard disc recorder, and 3 years later got a new Mac and a basic Pro Tools rig.

Through all of these years I have made do with an absolute minimum of peripherals. Pre-amps, effects, plug-ins, and so on have been scarce or non existent. I have nonetheless made hundreds of recordings, and some of them are not that bad!

lo fi is a collection of 15 of the better ones. I think they are worth a listen. I hope you do too!

I will shortly put more info on my soon-to-be-launched website
www.georgebreakfast.com

In the spirit of lo fi this album is very cheap!
